Finca Medina - Guatemala
A rich, indulgent coffee with dark chocolate depth, date sweetness and a note of dessert wine.
This coffee comes from Finca Medina, a 100-hectare farm founded in 1842 in the foothills of the Agua volcano on the outskirts of Antigua, Guatemala. The farm treats its own coffee processing water on site and turns the leftover pulp into compost, which goes back onto the coffee trees instead of being dumped.
We roast it to bring out the depth and sweetness of the black honey process. Expect a creamy, rounded body with dark chocolate, date and a lingering dessert wine sweetness, whether brewed black or with milk.
Brewing
Best suited to filter, where the black honey sweetness really shows. As espresso it's unusual and bold, worth trying if you fancy something different.
